I’m a week shy of being halfway through this spring semester. It’s crazy how fast time flies! I don’t have a whole lot of updates.

The out of the ordinary thing that happened this week was my overnight volunteer shift with the Two Rivers ¹⁰⁰⁄₂₀₀ sled dog race. One other veterinary student and I stayed at the Pleasant Valley Store (a little convenience store about 40 minutes away from Fairbanks) from midnight until 8am to check in with mushers as they trickled in to the rest stop. Although it made for a slow night, I am happy to report that all of the mushers said their dogs were running very well and there were no major medical issues to be found!

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures from the race, but I do have some other pictures from the weekend.

Jake and I went for a nice long run to campus and then around on the trails. I still feel like a kid in a candy store when I look at the beautiful trail system that is right behind my school.

We ran by the reindeer on campus too.

And on a side note, I bought tickets to the Slipknot concert this summer. SOOOOO EXCITED!
