We Made It!
It’s official - we made it to Alaska! The drive was long (approximately 3100 miles) but so beautiful and totally worth it. The views were amazing on their own; coupled with wildlife sightings, it was a totally awesome experience.
Everyone (fur babies included) traveled well. I was a bit surprised to find that our cat, Chihiro, was a better traveler than Maya. Chihiro would find a spot on a pillow or blanket and would snooze, meanwhile Maya (being a little bit nervous) stood almost the entire ride with her head on the center console. Raven earned the expert traveler award - as soon as we got in the car she would fall asleep and not move until we reached our destination that evening.
Our drive consisted of five days of travel, with anywhere between 10 and 12 hours of total trip time per day. It was pretty easy going all things considered, and we didn’t have any major issues along the way. Overall - a nice drive. It was long, but a fun adventure.
I’ve captured a few highlight pictures from the trip, and posted them below :-)
